Do not dismiss physical symptoms

Stomach aches, headaches and marked tension should not simply be called excuses. Repeated physical symptoms need medical assessment. Emotional distress may also need professional support.

Look for patterns

Make a brief note of when difficulties occur and what your child says. Is it a lesson, break time, the journey or the whole day? These observations can help conversations with school and professionals.

Work together early

Speak to the school about support. Persistent school avoidance, strong anxiety or significant distress need timely professional assessment. An online article cannot replace that.

Where coaching might fit

Once suitability is clear, coaching can focus on everyday goals such as organisation, communication or handling expectations. It does not treat an anxiety disorder or replace school-based or therapeutic measures.
