When exam anxiety runs the week at home
The paper is Thursday. Tuesday night is already gone. Some children cram until midnight. Some never open the book. Some rehearse a talk in the bathroom and lose the text the moment someone listens. Parents in Berlin rarely arrive saying exam anxiety. They arrive with stomach-aches before tests, a child who says “I am stupid” despite decent marks, and a night before classwork where nobody sleeps.
That is not laziness. It is a signal that being marked — a grade, a glance, a timer — has become larger than your child can carry this week.
What kids coaching actually does here
I work educationally: words for the evening before, a smaller slice of practice, a room without a stopwatch. Parents often get clarity first — what is pressure from school, what the child heaps on themselves, and that you do not have to “fix” anyone before help is allowed. The child practises the next step without being explained in front of the class.
I do not diagnose and I do not play at treatment. Aylin Yonca, kids life coach with school practice and a B.Sc. in Psychology: the next step is still a conversation with you.
Berlin in person — online in Germany and worldwide
In person in Berlin, without a clinic corridor. Appointments sit so school is not happening a third time that day. If you cannot travel, we work online — in Germany or worldwide.
If the fight already starts at the door, that belongs on school anxiety. If the arm stays down at the board, see confidence. If the book opens and the eyes are already gone, see concentration. For reading at home: the exam anxiety note.
The first step is a free parent conversation
I meet a parent before I meet the child. Sometimes coaching is the wrong next step — I will say that. Packages come afterwards. Short answers live in the FAQ.
