What the scorekeeping is often asking for
A Berlin evening can look like this: two plates, one sofa, five minutes later someone is reciting who “always” comes off worse. The second child covers their ears or quietly files evidence. And you notice you have become the referee nobody hired.
Sibling rivalry is often the last language when other sentences are too small. Rank. Hunger to be seen. A game that was not allowed to end. Some children go loud before anyone can overlook them. Some go quiet and keep a ledger later. That is not proof of a disorder. It is a signal.
If confidence is thin or angry outbursts swallow the room, that belongs in the picture — without forcing everything onto one topic.
What cools the evening — and what archives the ledger
Helps: an adult who makes the room safe instead of crowning a winner. Less audience. After the storm, water, not a sermon in front of the other child. A sentence that still holds tomorrow, not five new rules in adrenaline.
Pressure: telling relatives how “impossible” one child is. Filming “as proof”. Comparing who is “the mature one”. The child hears and stores shame that feeds the next line in the list. Better a short private note: hunger, sleep, device, trigger, what may be two centimetres smaller tomorrow.
When a kids coach in Berlin is a fair next step
When the flat has no pause, school is writing, you dread the evening. The Berlin offer is a room after the clash — not proof that “work is happening”. The child does not need to like me.
If Berlin is too far and the same tally remains: online across Germany or worldwide — the same frame sits on the topic page, as soon as a quiet corner exists. Short questions: FAQ. Packages only after the parent conversation.
Where coaching stops
No treatment of disorders, no promise of harmonious siblings. Danger, injury, a clear professional service: other hands. This piece sorts the week. It does not replace a check.
