What parents usually notice first
A child with concentration difficulties rarely hands you the cause. Sometimes the task is too large. Sometimes the body is still on the playground. Sometimes a screen in the next room pulls, even when nobody is touching it.
“Unfocused” bunches exhaustion into a word. It is a description, not a stamp. Underneath can sit tiredness, too much material, exam anxiety, a fight about the phone. Coaching sorts. It does not name a disorder.
What often helps at home — and what turns up the heat
What often helps: a start small enough to finish. The same clock. Not an interrogation after ten minutes. What raises pressure: “you could if you wanted”, humour that humiliates, three tasks at once.
Telling school without turning the child into a case is work. Some teachers hear it. Coaching does not magically change the timetable. It can give you language.
When a kids coach is the useful next step
When the afternoon is only a fight with the worksheet, you cannot sit either — an outsider can take heat out. In Berlin I work in person. The frame sits on the concentration landing. If Berlin is too far, online sessions use the same topic page.
Where coaching stops
I do not treat an attention disorder and I do not promise a still chair. If a specialist service recommends diagnosis or therapy, that belongs in other hands. Practical questions: the FAQ.
